KATE WENDT
Kate Wendt, a distinguished fine artist, earned her design degree from Harrington College of Design and enjoyed a 37-year career as an Architectural Interior Design Director in Chicago, Kansas City, and Boston. Throughout her expansive career, her expertise included interior design, custom interior product design, and environmental graphics, while she continued to explore painting, photography, and jewelry design. In retirement, Kate has continued to paint, drawing deeply from her background in art, design, architecture, and her lifelong passion for dance, particularly Argentine Tango.
From an early age, Kate was drawn to the expressive potential of physical movement through dance. This early fascination evolved into a distinctive artistic style that utilizes the paint medium to convey motion through vibrant, emotive brushwork. Her paintings, characterized by a rhythmic cadence, capture the fluidity of dance and, combined with her background in design, create a portfolio that showcases both technical skill and profound emotional depth.
Kate Wendt's work has been featured in exhibitions at Creative Pinellas Gallery, Morean Art Center, Tampa Regional Arts Center, Warehouse Arts District, and the Dali Museum volunteers show. Her art is also showcased online by the Florida Watercolor Society, Las Laguna Art Gallery, and Gallerium.
