My work is influence by my design education and fascination with color and form. I am an avid photographer of everything around me that inspires me. Often, I use the image directly for my paintings or as a concept for composition and color. I start my work by creating an exciting view of the subject that conveys the story I want to tell.  Then, I balance the foreground to the background to create interest while moving the viewer's eye throughout the painting.

I use color and texture, and the movement of the paint to enhance the visual and tactile surface of the paintings.  Experimentation with the unique properties of the various paints, brush techniques, and surfaces allows me to further develop my paintings.  Working in acrylic, watercolor, oil, and mixed media, the paintings I create are abstractions of the natural world
